Stephen Millett

My name is Mr Millett and this is my second year as the swimming coach within the PE department at Gems Metropole.

Over the past year I have helped to develop a swimming curriculum which will provide students of all abilities, a learn to swim program, to develop students from a non-swimmer to a confident swimmer and other programs such as life-saving and aqua-fitness.

I have an abundance of experience teaching a wide range of year groups and abilities from the last 11 years of being a swimming teacher both here in Dubai and the UK. I love to see my students develop their confidence, water safety skills and stroke development whilst having fun during their swimming lessons. Hopefully going on to be able to join our school Mustang swim squad.

This year, I cannot wait to build on the success of the Mustangs primary and secondary swim teams from last year and hopefully support our swimmers again as they compete in the end of year championships at Hamdan sports complex against other schools in Dubai. It had been an absolute pleasure to see our swimmers go from strength to strength throughout the year. I am proud of their dedication to their training sessions, even attending sessions before school, and commitment in supporting their team at various swimming galas and competitions. They have shown resilience and a commitment to improvement, which has been rewarded with their success in winning many races in their galas.
