Emilia Ackroyd

Hello, my name is Emilia Ackroyd and this will be my third year living in Dubai, teaching Year 2 at GEMS Metropole School.

I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Primary Education at Liverpool John Moores University in 2016 and I then worked in a Primary school in England for 6 years in Year 1, Year 4 and Year 5.

I am very excited to continue teaching in Year 2 in Dubai and I am really looking forward to getting to know all of the children in my new class! I am also looking forward to continue my role as the Head of Infant Maths.

In my spare time, I love to travel and visit new places, this is one of the reasons why I chose to live in Dubai.

I am very passionate about teaching fun and engaging lessons which motivate learners to have a love of learning. I always aim to create a positive learning environment which includes active and interactive lessons.

I strongly believe that each child is different and learn in different ways therefore I teach a range of lesson types to suit the needs of all children.
