Rebecca Coulter
Head of Science Department (Juniors)
My name is Rebecca Coulter and this will be my 7th year as a teacher in GEMs Metropole. I am very excited to be Head of Science for the Junior School and to continue working in Year 5.
I am 28 years old and originally from a small town in Northern Ireland called Portaferry. I have lived in Liverpool (England) for 4 years studying Primary Teaching with English Literature at Liverpool Hope University. I thoroughly enjoy reading, and wish to share my love for reading with the children in my class. Since moving to Dubai I have taken a keen interest in sports and exercise.
I am a motivated teacher and wish to ensure that all children reach their full potential. I have a passion for teaching and strive to create a positive, exciting learning environment in any classroom I work in. I strive to be organised and ensure that all lessons are suitable to meet the needs of every child in my class. I am keen to help and support the children to grow and develop.
In my classroom I wish to try and make sure that the children get the most from my lessons, through practical activities and trips this will help to solidify the children’s learning. I set high standards for each child to promote life-long learning and allow them to reach their goals.
Parental engagement is extremely important to me, and I am looking forward to meeting everyone and wish to create a good relationship with all parents and guardians to ensure that they are aware of their child’s progress and to support them on their educational journey.
I am looking forward to meeting all the children and getting to know them and support them in their educational journey.
