Sarah Burns
Head of Humanities
My name is Sarah Burns and I am from the Northwest of England. I studied Human Geography and Social Sciences at Leeds Metropolitan University and PGCE Secondary at Manchester Metropolitan University.
I moved to the UAE in August 2021 and am now entering my fourth year at Gems Metropole. Before moving to the UAE, I have lived in the Dominican Republic and Myanmar and I have thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in different cultures and teaching a variety of children.
In my classroom, I like to create an atmosphere where everyone has an opportunity to speak and share their thoughts. I also like to ensure that every lesson is engaging, fun and worthwhile for the students. I love to take the students to experience geography firsthand and I am looking forward to the field trip opportunities this year.
As one school year ends, I am already looking ahead to the next school year, and I look forward to welcoming new and old faces for the 2024-2025 academic year.
