Zoe Joslin
Head of Foundation Subjects & Head of Moral, Social and Cultural Studies
Hello! My name is Zoe Joslin, and I am excited to be entering my fourth year of teaching at GEMS Metropole in the UAE. Before moving to the UAE, I lived in a small town on the South East coast of England called Battle. As a teacher, I taught Year 3 and Year 5 in Hastings, England, where I also served as the Head of Maths and Geography.
I graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Exeter. Following my graduation, I spent a year teaching PE to students aged 3-18 in both primary and secondary settings in Bristol. I then completed my PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church University.
I am an enthusiastic and caring teacher determined to create a fun, engaging learning environment where all students can thrive and achieve their full potential. I hold high expectations in the classroom, encouraging children to be High Performance Learners who are resilient and persevere in accessing the national curriculum, always challenging themselves to achieve above and beyond their potential.
I believe that children should feel comfortable and confident in their learning environment to achieve their goals. Therefore, I strive to be a friendly and approachable teacher who makes learning memorable in an engaging and supportive atmosphere.
Family involvement is key to children’s success at school, so I will share learning experiences with families and communicate frequently. I look forward to guiding the children through their final year of junior school and sharing their journey with you. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, travelling, exploring the outdoors and participating in various sports. One of my favourite sports is rugby, which I have played since I was 11 years old, representing many teams at different levels.
I am excited to meet everyone in my new class, work together and continue to be part of the welcoming GEMS Metropole community. Here’s to another fantastic year of growth and discovery!
