Sanna Bashir

Hello, my name is Sanna Bashir, and this is my first year at GEMS Metropole, having recently moved to Dubai from the UK. I come with a background in Social Work and over 14 years of experience, both in the UK and internationally, supporting children, young people, and families.

I hold a Master’s degree from Warwick University and have worked across many areas within Social Care, where promoting emotional wellbeing has always been a central focus. I have also led teams as a Senior Practitioner and Team Manager, with a strong emphasis on supporting children through a wellbeing-focused, trauma-informed approach.

I bring a wealth of experience in working with children with a variety of needs. My approach is always child-centred and I strive to build emotional resilience, encourage reflection, and create safe, supportive environments where students feel heard, valued, and empowered.

As a School Counsellor, I’m passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and staff. I am excited to be part of the GEMS community and look forward to working together to help children thrive both emotionally and academically.
