Neil Pouney

Head of Senior School

Neil grew up in Solihull in the west midlands and joined the Royal Air Force at 17 as an aircraft engineer.  His Air force career gave him many experiences and opportunities including a tour teaching officers mathematics and engineering subjects as part of their initial academic training. 

Neil graduated from the University of Wales with a BEng (Hons) in Aeronautical/Mechanical engineering in 2003.  He left the Royal Air Force to take up a secondary Mathematics teaching position in Hampshire in 2009.  This post saw him rise to head of mathematics and whole school raising standards lead.  He also had the opportunity to lead the school combined cadet force. In 2017 he took up the role of vice Principal at a University technical College which lead to him becoming Head of School at another UTC in the same trust. 

Neil is a huge advocate of giving all students opportunities to achieve their potential in what they are passionate about and preparing them for the world after school.

In his personal life he enjoys time with his wife and 2 dogs. Neil is a keen sailor and is looking forward to exploring the opportunities of travel around the UAE.
